SHMC Conducts Free Medical Camp for KSRTC Drivers and Staff
November 2, 2025
The Sacred Heart Medical College (SHMC) successfully organized a free medical camp exclusively for the drivers and staff of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) at the KSRTC Bus Stand, Kottayam. The initiative was aimed at promoting the health and well-being of transport employees, who often face challenging work conditions and long hours on the road.
The camp received an enthusiastic response from KSRTC personnel, with active participation throughout the day. A team of expert doctors from SHMC, including Dr. Smitha Bahulyean (Consultant Physician), Dr. Anjaly K. C. (Consultant Pulmonologist), and Dr. K. T. George (Consultant Orthopaedic), provided professional consultations and detailed medical check-ups.
To ensure comprehensive healthcare support, the camp also offered on-site laboratory testing and pharmacy services, enabling participants to undergo basic investigations and receive essential medications free of cost.
The initiative underscored SHMC’s strong commitment to community outreach and preventive healthcare, reaffirming its mission to extend quality medical services beyond hospital walls and reach those who serve the community daily.
