On December 20, SH Medical Centre (SHMC) transformed into a hub of festive joy and professional milestones. The Christmas celebration brought together the entire hospital fraternity—from senior consultants to support staff—in a powerful display of unity and community spirit.

Festive Highlights: Secret Santa and Carol Competitions

The day commenced at 1:30 PM with the Secret Santa programme, a campus-wide gift exchange that fostered goodwill among the staff.

The evening saw the hospital come alive with the Inter-departmental Carol Song Competition. Ten teams competed, showcasing the hidden talents of our medical professionals.

A Milestone Day: New OT and Mammogram Inaugurations

The celebrations were graced by distinguished guests and marked significant upgrades to our healthcare infrastructure.

• New Operation Theatre: Formally inaugurated by Sri Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Honourable MLA of Kottayam.

• Radiology Advancements: The new X-Ray and Mammogram facilities were inaugurated by Dr. Kurian Xavier, Medical Superintendent.

• Quality Excellence: A proud moment for the hospital as the NABH Blood Bank Certificate was formally handed over by Cardiologist Dr. V. L. Jayaprakash to our Director, Rev. Sr. Jeena Rose, SH.

An Evening of Music and Culture

The Christmas Gala Event began at 6:00 PM with a prayer by the SHMC Choir. A spiritual highlight was the Christmas message and cake-cutting ceremony led by Rev. Fr. Joseph Tharappel.

Attendees were treated to a soulful musical performance by Dr. V. L. Jayaprakash, who captivated the audience with a professional fiddle and violin recital. The night concluded with a vibrant dance performance by the SHMC Nursing Department and the final prize distribution for our Star and Wreath-making contests.
