
SH Medical Centre Celebrates Christmas with Festive Spirit and Key Inaugurations

SH Medical Centre celebrated Christmas on December 20 with great joy and festive enthusiasm, bringing together all staff members—from doctors to attenders—in a spirit of unity and togetherness.
The celebrations began at 1:30 PM with a Secret Santa program, during which staff exchanged gifts and Christmas wishes, spreading happiness and goodwill across the campus.
In the evening, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, a Carol Song Competition was held with the participation of 10 teams representing various departments, including Laboratory, Operation Theatre, Administration, Pharmacy, T1 & T2, Radiology, CCU, LR & NICU, OPD, and the Nursing Department.
The results were as follows:
- First Prize: Operation Theatre
- Second Prize: OPD
- Third Prize: IP Laboratory
The Christmas Gala Event commenced at 6:00 PM with a prayer song by the SHMC Choir Group, followed by a welcome address by the Director, Rev. Sr. Jeena Rose, SH. The Christmas message and cake-cutting ceremony were led by Rev. Fr. Joseph Tharappel.
A special attraction of the evening was a musical performance by Dr. V. L. Jayaprakash, who enthralled the audience with a soothing fiddle and violin performance.
The occasion also marked several important milestones for the institution. The newly established Operation Theatre was inaugurated by Sri Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Honorable MLA, Kottayam. Additionally, X-Ray and Mammogram facilities were inaugurated by Dr. Kurian Xavier, Medical Superintendent. On the same occasion, the NABH Blood Bank Certificate was formally handed over by Dr. V. L. Jayaprakash, Cardiologist, to Rev. Sr. Jeena Rose, SH.
The celebrations continued with a vibrant Christmas-themed dance by the SHMC Nursing Department, followed by prize distribution for competitions such as Star Making, Wreath Making, and the Carol Song Competition. The program concluded with a common carol song led by Teena Mary Abraham, marking a joyful and memorable end to the festivities.
Overall, the Christmas celebration at SH Medical Centre reflected the true spirit of the season, fostering unity, joy, and goodwill among all staff members.
