
First Aid Awareness Program Held at Sevanikethan Special School on World Heart Day

In observance of World Heart Day, Sacred Heart Medical Centre (SHMC) conducted a First Aid Awareness Program at Sevanikethan Thiruhurudayanivas Special School, aiming to promote emergency preparedness and heart health. The session was led by Dr. Balu, Resident Medical Officer at SHMC, who emphasized the critical importance of timely first aid, especially during cardiac emergencies.
Participants were introduced to basic life-saving techniques such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and other essential first aid procedures. Dr. Balu also discussed preventive care and lifestyle measures to maintain heart health, aligning with the central theme of World Heart Day.
The interactive session included demonstrations and hands-on activities, encouraging active participation and significantly boosting confidence in handling emergency situations. The program was well-received and served as an important step toward empowering the community with life-saving knowledge and skills.
