SH Medical Centre Kicks Off Christmas with Eco-Friendly Star Competition
December 1, 2025
On December 1, 2025, SH Medical Centre officially launched its festive season with a unique Eco-Friendly Star Making Competition. Held in the hospital auditorium, the event was more than just a creative contest; it was a powerful statement on environmental responsibility and sustainable festive celebrations.
Sustainability Meets Tradition
The core objective of the competition was to move away from plastic and non-biodegradable decor. Our staff was challenged to create traditional Christmas stars using only nature-friendly materials.
The results were stunning displays of innovation, featuring:
-
Bamboo and Jute: Providing a strong, rustic framework.
-
Paper and Cotton: Adding delicate textures and classic holiday aesthetics.
-
Repurposed Cloth: Showcasing how textile waste can be transformed into art.
By opting for these biodegradable materials, our teams demonstrated that sustainable healthcare facilities can lead by example, even during cultural celebrations.
Collaborative Creativity Across Departments
The event saw enthusiastic participation from every corner of the hospital. Beyond the artistic talent, the competition fostered teamwork and innovation, as doctors, nurses, and administrative staff collaborated to turn simple natural elements into festive masterpieces.
These handcrafted stars are now displayed throughout the hospital, offering a warm, rustic charm that patients and visitors have found deeply comforting.
