
Blessing and Inauguration Ceremony Held at SH Medical Centre on World Day of the Sick

On 11th February 2026, marking the observance of the World Day of the Sick, SH Medical
Centre celebrated a significant milestone with the Blessing and Inauguration Ceremony of its
renovated Chapel and newly established Accident and Emergency Department.
The program commenced at 10:00 a.m. with the solemn blessing, consecration, and re-dedication
of the renovated Hospital Chapel. The sacred rites were reverently led by Mar Joseph
Perumthottam, whose presence added deep spiritual significance to the occasion. The ceremony
was attended by hospital authorities, staff members, and invited guests, who gathered in prayer
and thanksgiving.
Following the chapel ceremony, the newly established Accident and Emergency Department was
officially inaugurated and blessed. This new facility marks a major step forward in the hospital’s
commitment to providing timely, efficient, and quality emergency care services to the
community. The VIP Lounge was also blessed as part of the day’s proceedings.
All staff members of SH Medical Centre actively participated in organizing and supporting the
event, contributing to its smooth conduct and grand success. The celebration was marked by
prayer, gratitude, and joy, reflecting the institution’s continued dedication to healing,
